My Geek Box Unboxing & Review – December 2016

my geek box review

My Geek Box is one of the few UK based geeky subscription boxes that ship (affordably) to the US. In fact, the subscription only runs $20/month and you get FREE shipping with that making it cheaper than a Nerd Block subscription and at par with Loot Crate. They don’t typically run themes or release spoilers so what you get is a true mystery box every month. So… do you want to see what December’s box had to offer? Well check it out…

…like what you see? Well let’s get a closer look at everything…

Straight Outta Gotham T Shirt

I love this shirt design! Simple, geeky, and relevant to current pop culture. I’m an old-school fan of NWA so I feel a connection to the “Straight outta Compton” logo so I will definitely wear this. Actually I’ve even been to Compton once… ok well near Compton …ok ok so I was on the Disney Magical Express from the airport on my way to Disneyland lol.

Turncoat Graphic Novel

I’ve never heard of this comic before but this is the complete miniseries of Turncoat. It’s a parody about a super hero killer who is terrible at his job. I haven’t read it yet but the artwork is fantastic and it sounds pretty funny.

Kidrobot Golden Homer Buddha Vinyl

I actually already own this figure but he’s one of my most favorite pieces in my entire collection. He is supposed to be holding a pretzel and a necklace but I didn’t take them out of the packaging for the photo. I don’t know what it is about this figure but I absolutely love everything about it… even the box is awesome! I’m thinking about keeping this one for my desk at work.

Exclusive Cult Vinyl Dredd Figure

So My Geek Box teamed up with the company Cult Vinyl to bring you exclusive vinyl figures every month. The first one being Judge Dredd. They are very Dorbz-like although more detailed and better looking in my opinion. I really hope they continue this figure line every month because I love vinyl figures and having one guaranteed every month is a huge plus.

…and that was the My Geek Box for December 2016. I have to say that I really like the direction this company is heading into 2017. They’ve always been a consistently average box but this one really shines so I hope they can keep the momentum going! Value-wise they’ve been getting much better, especially at the $20 price point seeing at that the graphic novel by itself costs more than that.
