Geek Fuel Unboxing & Review – December 2016

geek fuel review

I recently took a break from Geek Fuel for a while (strictly for budget reasons) but they had a really good deal going for the December box that I didn’t want to pass up. Geek Fuel doesn’t run themes but the December 2016 box features items from Robocop, Marvel, and some type of Harry Potter-like product called Wizard Wear. So let’s jump in and take a look at what the Geek Fuel had to offer…

…and now get a closer look at everything in the photos…

Geek Fuel Epic Enamels Droid Edition Pin

So this is new… well sorta. Geek Fuel has a habit of putting their mascot on various products they include in the box. I don’t mind because I like robots so its cool. So this pin is made to look like a carded Star Wars figure and the mascot is R2D2’d out. For me this is a definite win because I typically do not like getting pins in my boxes… but when you can make them look like this you change the game lol. Plus I’m a sucker for everything Star Wars so obviously I’m going to like it.

8-Bit Gift Wrap

Now this is a repeat item from last year’s Geek Fuel. There are 3 sheets of geeky wrapping paper inside with Legend of Zelda, Megaman, & Mario designs on them. Under normal circumstances I would be all up in arms about a repeat but this one is actually a great idea and I loved the paper last time so I’m glad they brought it back. I like saving it for birthdays because I always have xmas paper but with birthdays they always seem to catch you off guard lol.

Caveman Craig Full Steam Game

Of course every month you get a full downloadable Steam game. The December game is called “Caveman Craig: The Tribes of Bogdrop” which is a side scrolling RTS. I haven’t gotten around to playing it yet but I checked out the trailer and it looks really good.

Wizard Wear Scarf

I was curious to see what the Wizard Wear item would be… seeing as that they don’t mention Harry Potter by name but used the font so you knew what it was all about. So it all makes sense now… this scarf is very similar to the Gryffindor scarves seen in the HP movies in pattern and coloring but is not licensed. I’m not a stickler for that and I’m in no way upset over it I just thought it was a strange item to advertise. It’s a decent scarf although it’s a bit short and better for a kid… plus it’s missing the fringes at the ends like a true Harry Potter scarf. My middle child is a big HP fan so he’ll love this item regardless.

The World According to Thor Book

You could have received this Thor book or an Iron Man book that was pretty similar. I actually have several book like this from the various geek boxes over the years and they’re pretty good. They have little pop up items and extra things attached to the pages to make the reading a hands on experience. I’m not a fan of Thor though and would much rather have gotten the Iron Man book.

Robocop ED-209 Shirt

This shirt is just plain awesome! While Robocop get’s a little bit cheesy as it gets older the ED-209 is timeless and one of the coolest movie robots of all time. I’m pretty sure I was rooting for this bad boy to take out Robocop and become the new star of the show lol.

…and that was the Geek Fuel for December 2016. Overall I think it was a great month and the only downer is that I got Thor & not Iron Man but that’s the way it goes. The January box should be shipping out right about now, however, I did not continue my subscription for the time being (budget reasons)…

But if you would like to subscribe to Geek Fuel, please use my referral link by clicking here. All sales made through this link get me $5 towards a Geek Fuel box so I can bring you more reviews.
