Five Four Club – Men’s Fashion Subscription Review – December 2016

five four club review

Over the past few months I’ve been diving into the men’s fashion subscription boxes to branch out from the every day and try something new. The Five Four Club has been on my radar since October but I finally decided to pull the trigger in December. Like most boxes, they run specials for new subscribers… I wanted the most bang for my buck so I opted for the “double your clothes” promotion so for my fist box I got 2 months for the price of one.

Sign up was quick and easy. Five Four Club is a “you keep everything you get” service as opposed to others that charge you only for what you keep. I do like this way a little better because you tend to get more clothes for one set price instead of debating whether or not you want to pay X dollars for each item. There is very minimal customization to your style preferences… in fact there are only really 3 to choose… this is because essentially (from how it appears) everyone gets the same items from each category for the month. For the $60 monthly charge you get 2-3 items ranging from shoes, jackets, shirts, pants, & accessories.

Five Four Club Knit Hat

The first item I got was a black knit hat. It’s fitting for the time of year and I can definitely use a good hat what it’s 10 degrees outside! The hat has a nice knit design on it and is very thick and warm. It’s 100% cotton and feels like it’s really good quality.

Five Four Club Socks

This is a nice pair of dress socks. They are black with a dark green band at the top, as well as the heel and toe areas. There is also a saying on them that is rather unusual:

“No Finance, No Romance”… funny? Yes. A little sexist? Definitely. I’m not sure I need my socks telling me that I’m not going to get the girl if I’m broke lol. Ah well… I still like them. The green & black combo works well and I will definitely wear them.

Five Four Club Bomber-Style Jacket

This was my final item from the “official” December package. (What the regular month was like without my bonus items) It’s a green bomber jacket and let me tell you it is awesome!

While it’s way too light to wear in the winter time, it will be perfect once spring hits. I’ve actually wanted a jacket like this for a while now so I am extremely happy with the Five Four Club right now! It’s got a simple zipper with a double button on the top which looks good done up or left open depending on how I feel. The fit is perfect and I have to say that this item alone was worth the entire purchase price for me!

Five Four Club Gray Button Up Shirt

On to my bonus for the month. Since I got the “two month’s in one” promotion for signing up, I got this nice button-up as one of my extras.

It works really well when worn casually… the open, unbuttoned look… but it can also be dressed up tucked in with a tie. The quality seems to be at par with some of my more expensive designer shirts as opposed to my cheaper work shirts. I like it a lot! It’s comfortable and stylish ad I can make it work with just about anything.

Five Four Club Hoodie

My final item for this month was my second bonus. You can’t go wrong with a gray hoodie and this one is nicer than most!

I received a similar gray hoodie in another box that reportedly retailed for over $100 and this one blows that one out of the water. For starters it’s a thicker material for more warmth but what I like best is the coloring. The gray fabric has the darker flecks in it which really look much better in person that on camera. I also like the black in the zipper which gives it a nice look as opposed to the standard silver you find on most hoodies. This is definitely the best hoodie I’ve received out of any box hands down.

So what’s the verdict? Well even though this is not really a personalized box, they definitely know men’s style and didn’t send me any crazy colors or wild patterns. I’ve seen other reviews for the month and there seems to be some variation on the exact color and style of the items received but to my knowledge… everyone got a hat, socks, and a jacket. Best of all, it’s all pre-paid for and I keep it without having to make budget decisions over every item! I think I’m going to keep Five Four Club going for now… although I may opt to get it every other month (I believe they have a skip a month option but not positive).

If you want to try Five Four Club for yourself, you can get $30 off your first box by using my referral link here. By using my link, we both get a deal which definitely helps allow me to bring you more boxes to review every month!

Be sure to check out my other subscription box reviews, and follow me on social media so you never miss another unboxing!
