November’s theme for the Loot Crate DX was “Magical” and much like the regular Loot Crate they featured some very similar franchises. Most notably there was going to be Doctor Strange and Fantastic Beasts items inside… which makes sense given they both just came out in the theaters. While they regular crate wasn’t the best this month I had high hopes that we would get some better items in the premium DX crate. So… did they pull through? Well check out my unboxing…
…so what did you think? Well let’s take a closer look at those items…
Loot Crate DX Magical Pin
This month’s Loot Crate DX pin is a Doctor Strange design. Since I’m not really a fan of Doctor Strange I wasn’t too excited about this one.
Doctor Strange “Mystical” Print
Even if this wasn’t a Doctor Strange item I wouldn’t be too thrilled about it. I constantly respond to their surveys that I don’t like the print in the box. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a high quality print & recently they had them numbered… although that number is capped at 17,000 so why bother.
Harry Potter Metal Bookmark
I like that this is the clip type instead of a standard bookmark. It’s definitely a high quality piece that I’m sure any fan of the Harry Potter books would love to own.
The Witcher 3 Insignia Pewter Paperweight
IDK I think if this were any other paperweight I would hate it but this thing is so freaking cool that I am absolutely in love with it. It’s extremely heavy and nicely detailed …and I mean come on… the thing just looks so bad ass!
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Plush Throw
Even though I haven’t seen the movie yet I really like this blanket. It’s super soft and surprisingly bigger than it looks all rolled up. I’m keeping it in the nerd cave because it tends to get cold in here in the winter time so I can use it to keep me warm while I’m working …like right now.
Game of Thrones Lord of Light Hoodie
I called this the Melisandre hoodie because it has her necklace in the front design. (Do you like my whole “unimpressed fashion model” look in the photo? lol) The hoodie is super thick and heavy duty… way more so than other hoodies that Loot Crate has shipped in the past. It’s very comfortable and very warm which is a definite plus! The design on it is …a little out of place and doesn’t really balance well on the front or the back. BUT it’s Game of Thrones which is one of my favorites so I will still most definitely wear this!
…and that was the Loot Crate DX “Magical” theme for November 2016. Overall I think they did another great job with this box… they could have definitely done better but I am still satisfied with what I got. December’s theme is called “Revolution” and features items from: Assassin’s Creed, Mr. Robot, Luke Cage, & Gears of War 4.
