Firefly Cargo Crate “Big Damn Heroes” Unboxing & Review – July 2016

firefly cargo crate review

The Firefly Cargo Crate is every Firefly fans dream! Each box they focus on a different character from the show. For July 2016 the “Big Damn Heroes” themed box featured Zoe Washburne. The box is bi-monthly and, yes, I received this one quite some time ago but never published my review. So let’s forget the chit-chat and dive right in…
.

.

…alright and now for a closer look…

Zoe Certificate of Valor

I really don’t care much for the paper products that they include in the boxes. Some are kind of interesting but others are …well blah. This, to me, is something that I could have made up on my computer and printed out myself if I really wanted one. Not quite sure what I will do with it. There was also an “Exported from Hera” sticker in the box that’s not pictured because it slipped inside the spoiler book when I was taking the pics.

Firefly Big Damn Heroes Sir Pin

Each month they have a pin that essentially has the theme name with a design around it. This one’s not too bad but I don’t really care all that much for pins.

Firefly Limited Edition Challenge Coin

I’m a little confused by the Comic Con exclusive coin being in the Loot Crate box. Did they just have extras from comic con or was it made specifically for this box? Not that it matters but it is a bit unusual as I don’t believe I’ve seen Loot Crate do that before. Either way this is a very high quality challenge coin with some good weight to it.

Wash Q Bits Figure

In this box you could have either got Mal or Wash. So far I’ve received my least favorite of the 2 in every single box. I’d love to have them all but that wont happen unless I buy them elsewhere. I think that was poor planning on their part. But these Q Bits are adorable and Wash isn’t all that bad I just lake Mal better lol.

Firefly Serenity Journal

This is a very high quality journal with faux leather binding and the pages are edged in gold. I love the old-timey look and I might not ever make a mark on the pages as not to ruin it. But then again it would be a shame not to use something the way it was intended… I’m torn.

Stand Firm T-Shirt

I thought this was some sort of replica from the show but as it turns out, this shirt was designed specifically for the Firefly Cargo Crate from the show’s costume designer (or something like that). It was inspired by the Zoe character and made to look like one of Jayne Cobbs shirts. I love it almost as much as I love the Dead Fish shirt from the Jayne box!

Little Damn Heroes “Zoe Washburne” – Qmx Mini Masters Figure

These figures come as no surprise every month because they spoil them when the theme is released. That doesn’t bother me at all because this was the one big draw for getting the box. I love these figures and Zoe is nicely detailed and very true to life… I have to say that this is the single driving force that will keep me as a long time subscriber!

…and that was the Firefly Cargo Crate “Big Damn Heroes” Theme for July 2016. Overall I think they did a great job again with this one. So far I’ve like every box with very little complaints (Like I said I don’t care for the paper items). September’s box has already arrived which is themed “A Leaf on the Wind” featuring Wash so be on the lookout for that review.
