Stitch Fix has been one of the top women’s fashion subscription boxes for quite some time now. My girlfriend has been getting her Stitch Fix for over a year now and she absolutely loves it. So when they announced that they were offering up a Stitch Fix Men subscription, we decided to sign me up right away. With Stitch Fix Men you only pay for the items you keep and the rest you send back… however, if you decide not to keep anything there is a $20 styling fee (which is incentive enough to keep at least one thing). You begin your subscription by filling out your style profile: measurements, preferred fit, as well as the clothing styles that best match your tastes. Stitch Fix does offer a unique feature in that you can actually pin styles you find online to a Pinterest board so your stylist can get a better understanding of the things you like. I decided I wanted some fresh casual clothes to off set my large supply of geeky tees but I also put in a special request for some work clothes because I can always use more. Finally, I set the date for shipment and all that was left was to wait…
So would you like to see what I got in my first Stitch Fix Men? Of course you do so check out my unboxing & get more details below:
On average, you will receive 5 items ranging from shirts & pants, to belts, ties, and other accessories. Prices vary between items but they tend to be priced pretty reasonable for the quality items that they are.
My Stitch Fix arrived in a cardboard box with my clothes packaged up nicely and a shipping bag with paperwork for any returns. You only have a few days to try them on and decide what you want to keep so I was sure to try them on right away.
Brown Leather Belt $38
This is a nice quality leather belt. I’ve only had black leather belts in my wardrobe for quite a while so I could actually use a brown one. They got my size right so what else is there to say about a belt right?
Seven Diamonds Straight Fit Chino Pants $78
The closest I’ve ever had to pants this color were some khakis. If I were in the store, I would probably never pick out pants this color but since I had them in front of me, I may as well try them on to see how they look.
Hawker Rye White Button Up Shirt $58
I specifically asked for white shirts in my Stitch Fix because I always need them for work. This is a very nice quality shirt that looks so much better than most of the other shirts I own.
Original Penguin Striped Henley Shirt $59
This is a long sleeve striped shirt with blue trim and a button up top. I have to admit, I didn’t think this shirt was my style… but I am willing to keep an open mind and try everything I received before I make a judgment.
Flag & Anthem Randolph Single Stripe Tee $26.50
This is a pretty nice designer t-shirt that is super soft, tagless, and has a pocket. I really like it but I already have a ton of t-shirts so I’m not sure if it will make the cut.
…so now you get to see me pretend to be a high fashion model lol. I was surprised how good the pants looked on me and the brown belt would be a must over one of my black ones. The white shirt fit really well, however, the sleeves were a tad bit long… nothing I cant work with.
…I didn’t think the Penguin striped shirt looked all that great but my girlfriend disagrees. She really likes it on me which …essentially made me realize how good it looks on me too lol.
…I really liked the t-shirt but like I said …it really doesn’t offer up a big change from my current wardrobe. Now, if I were to keep everything in the box, Stitch Fix Men will take a discount of 25% off everything! For all 5 items that’s a savings of almost $65 so it actually pays to keep all 5 if I were planning on keeping most of my box anyways. In the end though, I decided to only keep the white shirt for work, and the Penguin striped shirt cuz well… the girlfriend liked it lol. The pants were nice, but they were $78 and I didn’t like them enough to justify the expense. Since I didn’t get the pants there was really no need for the belt so then while I was at it I decided against the t-shirt too.
So overall I really like the Stitch Fix Men service and will continue to get them in the future. I’ve opted to get them about every 3 months for now while I’m reviewing other men’s fashion services for budget reasons.
