Loot Crate “Horror” Unboxing & Review – October 2016

loot crate horror review

For October, Loot Crate decided to go with a “Horror” theme much like every other box out there. Some of the franchises in the box include: The Walking Dead, Nightmare on Elm Street, & Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I have to admit I had really high hopes for this box as all of the teasers seemed to point to a great box. Did it live up to the hype? Well check out my unboxing…

Loot Crate Halloween Loot Pin

This month’s Loot Pin is awesome! I really like that they have gone to licensed pins in the boxes now. Not that I care all that much about the pins, they are definitely better than just some generic design. This pin “unlocks” digital content in you Loot Crate account for a Superfight game on Steam. I haven’t tried it out yet but the original Superfight game is a tabletop card game so I imagine it’s somewhat similar.

Friday the 13th – Camp Crystal Lake Pennant

This is a HUGE disappointment! A pennant really doesn’t seem like it should be a main item this feels more like filler to me. It’s a decent quality item but… no… this just plain sucks!

Nightmare on Elm Street – Freddy Glove Chopsticks

At first I thought these were clever, but after giving them a try I believe this is another fail. For starters, the “glove” doesn’t look all that great… but to add to it the chopsticks don’t even work well because of the way they’re attached at the top. It doesn’t display well either, I mean, who wants to have chopsticks hanging out on a shelf right?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre – Leatherface Plushie

I really don’t care for plushies either but this one is pretty cool. I only keep a select few for display and this one will probably make the cut. It’s made by Kidrobot as part of their “Phunny” line.

The Legion of Regrettable Supervillains Book

Loot Crate had another book exactly like this one about super heroes a few months back. It’s actually pretty cool as it highlights some really strange characters that have appeared in comics over the years. The only downside on this is that once you read through it there is little reason to ever open it again.

The Walking Dead – Negan Sluggers Shirt

Ah YES finally something that I really like! I’m a HUGE Walking Dead fan and I can wait for the new season which is just days away!!! Who do you think got it from Lucille?? Right now my money is on Glenn but if I had to rate my confidence in that I’d say I’m about 25% sure. I don’t know if someone spoiled it yet or not and I don’t want to know either… I made it this long it would be a shame to ruin it now.

…and that was the Loot Crate “Horror” theme for October 2016. Overall I’d say this was a pretty big fail that was only slightly saved by the shirt that I like so much… maybe the Superfight game too I’ll have to check that out.
