Trendy Butler is a men’s fashion subscription box that sends you high-end, hand picked clothes for you every month for just $65. Unlike some fashion subscription boxes, the items sent to you are yours to keep. (The alternative being that you are sent clothes but only pay for the items that you keep and send the rest back). There are advantages and disadvantages to each type of box but I will focus only on the Trendy Butler box for this review. With Trendy Butler, you typically get 2 clothing items that are hand picked for you using your style profile with a retail value of roughly $130. If for whatever reason you don’t like the items received, you can exchange them for free provided you are a current subscriber. (Your replacement is sent with the next month’s box). I’ll talk about the service a bit more but you can also get the story in my unboxing video if you prefer:
…alright so as I said, sign up was really easy and you fill out a comprehensive style profile that includes pictures of clothing that you feel suits your style best. Then based on that information, Trendy Butler will select your items and send them along. You can make special request and they will do their best to fulfill your needs, however, I did not make use of this function.
My clothing arrived in a nice little bundle in a brown shipping bag. I received 2 shirts in this shipment but from the website you can also get pants as well.
Vestige Sphere T-Shirt
I will admit I was surprised to see a T-shirt in the box. The brand is Vestige which is a VERY expensive brand that they only sell at upscale shops like Bloomingdales and such. It’s a cotton shirt that is super soft and very comfortable. It’s tagless and the spherical shape on the front sort of reminds me of the Death Star lol. I looked up the retail value of this shirt online and it was roughly $45 which seems insane but then again I wasn’t paying a retail price for it.
Vestige Gray Hoodie
I really do like this hoodie! It’s the same brand as the shirt and has the same great fit and feel to the fabric. From a distance it does look like just an average hoodie but up close you can really tell that it’s a high quality piece. I think it looks great on me and it coordinates really well with the included shirt. This one sells for about $115 which again, I don’t necessarily agree with luxury brand pricing but that wasn’t what I paid.
…and that was my Trendy Butler box for October 2016. The total retail value of this package was $160 which is above the value that they advertise so they are on the level in that respect. Unless I hit the lottery though I severely doubt you will catch me spending $160 for a T-shirt and a hoodie. That being said, I didn’t pay $160 since the subscription is only $65. If you break it down like $20 for the T-shirt which is a very average price, and $45 for the hoodie which again seems like a reasonable price for a really nice hoodie I think I did really well for myself. I love both items and they definitely got my style and fit perfect. The hoodie is now my favorite go-to fall wearable as I’ve been wearing it every day. I’d say this box was a hit!
