Nerd Block has gone theme-less once again for September 2016. I’m not quite sure how I feel about that since I am so used to the theme thing. It just feels strange without one ya know? I find it easier to get excited about a box when they have given it a name… but instead Nerd Block has chosen to just to release which franchises will be included… not that I mind that approach but it will take some getting used to. So anyways, instead of listing off the different franchises that will be in the box how about we just jump right into the unboxing:
…alright so you got the video lets check out the photos…
Exclusive 4 Pack of Star Wars Buttons
I hate to dislike a Star Wars item but buttons??? Really??? Yes I know there are people out there who collect buttons but I am not one of them… which you may find surprising because I literally have a big container full of pins and buttons lol. However, I like the designs on these and since I am a sucker for everything Star Wars I will probably still put them on display.
Attack on Titan face scarf
So if you’re unfamiliar with these it is a loop of light fabric with a face printed on it. You can wear it as pictured to make yourself look badass… and it really does help in the winter time to keep your face warm and prevent cold drafts from around your neck. You can also turn it into a headband, hat, and countless other things… my favorite saying is that you can use it to knock over a 7-11 lol. (I’m joking please don’t)
Exclusive Ghostbusters Phone Case
So the Nerd Block phone cases are finally here after months of hoopla. I never really wanted a phone case as I have a nice one and I am not the type to switch them out every other week. It’s a simple snap on plastic covering which offers almost no real drop protection or anything of that nature. I fully expected this so it was no surprise when I opened the box. Coincidentally, I also just ordered the new iPhone 7 so the phone that this fits isn’t going to be in use much longer.
Star Trek Fun With Kirk & Spock Book
I’ve heard about this book and it sounds like its going to be funny. I’m a huge Star Trek fan (although I am more Next Gen than Classic) so I definitely want to give this a read. My only concern is that I doubt it has any re-read value to it so once I’m done with it …it just collects dust.
Batman The Animated Series Figure
You could have got 1 of 3 figures: Batgirl, Penguin, or the Joker. I’m glad I got the Joker as he is definitely my favorite… although I do not watch the Animated Series. I’ll still display him though as the Joker is still the Joker no matter what “version” you are watching. (let’s not debate this please). The figure is nicely detailed and comes with several accessories including multiple hands in various poses.
Harry Potter “Snape” Shirt
I am not a big Harry Potter fan so this shirt isn’t exactly up my alley. I like HP well enough but not so much that I would get excited for a Snape shirt. I do, however, have some friends who are HUGE Potter fans and will probably wind up fighting each other “wizard style” to see who gets the shirt lol.
…and that was the Nerd Block Classic for September 2016. Overall it was a decent box, however, I am just not that thrilled with it. It’s been quite a few months since I was last excited over a Nerd Block so I have decided to take a break from this box for a while. Next month’s box is somewhat horror themed just in time for Halloween and I was so tempted to keep the subscription going.
