The Collector’s Case “Star Wars” Unboxing & Review – June 2016

The Collectors Case Review

Ok so here is the newest geeky subscription box on the scene! It’s called the Collector’s Case and it runs $25/month for an exclusive t-shirt and 4-6 pop culture collectibles every month. There is also a chance to get a celebrity autograph or bonus Funko Pop upgrade in the box! I have learned that as of this posting, the odds or winning an autographed item are 1 out of every 10 boxes but if you really want that autograph they have what’s called the “Sure Thing” box that guarantees the autograph for just $55. The theme for June 2016 was “Star Wars & Assassin’s Creed” which (obviously) included items from both franchises. This was their second ever box (I mistakenly thought it was the premiere box) and I was anxious to see what was inside! So check out my unboxing video then we will check out each item individually below…

…so what did you think? Take a closer look at everything in the photos…

Angry Birds Star Wars Dog Tags

This was the only item in the box that I wasn’t too thrilled about. I really don’t care for Angry Birds or dog tags even if they are Star Wars related. I got the Han Solo bird so I guess for me that would be the best one of the bunch.

Star Wars Micro Comic Collector Pack

This little pack is actually pretty awesome. The included mini comic I believe is a complete reprint from the original Star Wars comic series. I got issue #5 plus a 3d poster with glasses and a collectible card. I’m hoping that I can get the poster to flatten out so that I can put it in a frame next to the other Star Wars comic picture I have up on my wall.

DC Batman Mash’ems

This was the odd item out in the box since it was off-theme. I’m not a stickler for that sort of thing so I didn’t mind at all. I have a few of these and they are extremely squishy and better than a stress ball or popping bubble wrap in my opinion.

Star Trek Skele-Trek Mini Figure

Ok so I lied, there was another off-theme item but this one is close enough to Star Wars so I didn’t think of it until just now. I have another one of these of Data and I absolutely love him so now he has a companion to keep him company.

Assassin’s Creed Graphic Novel

This is a really nice book! Much like the game series, Subject 4 tells the story about a characters rise and fall in the brotherhood of assassins. The artwork is stunning and although I haven’t had the chance to read it yet… it looks very good!

Funko Kylo Ren Wacky Wobbler Bobble Head

The Funko Wacky Wobblers are so rare to find in subscription boxes. Both because of their size, and that they cost more then say a Funko Pop or similar item. I only have 1 other Star Wars bobble head, a First Order Storm Trooper, who was lonely for his master lol. The 2 can now take conquer my nerd cave.

Assassin’s Creed Licensed T-Shirt

This is not a cross-over or interpretation… this is a licensed Assassin’s Creed shirt exclusive to the Collector’s Case. I always say you cant go wrong with a licensed shirt… even though I don’t play any of the Assassin’s Creed series very often, I still love this shirt design and will totally wear it.

BONUS 8×10 Darth Maul Photo Autographed by Ray Park!

YESSSS! I got the autograph in my box! It’s even more exciting for me because it’s a Star Wars autograph! This was the perfect month for my to win the upgrade. I even went as a Darth Maul-inspired character for Halloween once back when the movie first came out. This is getting framed for sure I just need to find a spot to hang it.

…and that was the Collector’s Case for June 2016. Overall I am very pleased with this box… even without the signed photo this was well over $25 and that’s what really counts. I’ve already received my July box which you can check out on YouTube, and I’ll have a full review posted here shortly as well.
