Here’s a new subscription box that’s quite a bit different from my normal boxes. It’s called the QBox and it is a monthly spy subscription box full of all sorts of gadgets and spy gear! The subscription runs $55/month and features a selection of spy-themed gadgets, gear, and coordinating extras. My first box is themed “INDOC” as in “indoctrinate” for June 2016 which is the premiere introductory box… and I know you’re anxious to see what’s inside so let’s skip the chatter and check it out!…
…alright let’s get a closer look at all of those items…
Just some simple stickers but they seem to be pretty decent quality… better than the usual subscription box stickers if that means anything.
Field Notes Notebook
These little field notebooks are pretty common in subscription boxes. They fit with the spy theme and even though I don’t use them much I have heard a lot of people like them. This one actually has dots on the pages instead of lined paper which I may actually use though for graphing things out or just playing that dot game where you make the boxes lol.
If I’m not mistaken, Sparrows makes lock picking tools. It would be pretty awesome if they included a basic set in a future box as it’s a skill that I am trying to learn. But back to this patch, it has a Velcro backing and there is an opening on the back where you can hide a small thin object like a spare key or credit card. I do have a tactical vest that I might be able to put this on I’ll have to dig it out of storage to see.
Bicycle Black Ghost Playing Cards
What Bond movie would be complete without a high stakes gambling scene? Yes this is a pack of standard playing cards but they are some seriously high quality cards! The cards themselves are reversed, all black with white design and a little bit of red on the hearts & diamonds. They are pretty bad ass looking and are sure to impress your friends… ya know… if you hold like a card game or something.
Spy School T-Shirt
It’s a very simple black and white design but there’s just something I like about wearing a shirt that says “spy school” on it. Not that anyone is going to believe I’m in training to be a spy let alone wearing a shirt to advertise it …but ya know… you see someone walking around with a shirt like that it makes you wonder what that’s all about lol.
SOG Key Knife
And now for the cool stuff! I like knives so it was very cool to get this key knife in the box. Mostly because of the convenience… I’m almost never without my keys so it will always be there when I need it. This will come in most handy at work as I never have a knife around when I need one.
Blacksmith Card Knife
This knife is truly awesome! It’s the size of a credit card and it unfolds into a knife with a 2 inch blade complete with a handle. The total finished sixe is maybe 4 or 5 inches but I didn’t measure it to be exact. Yet another handy tool that is easily carried around with absolutely no effort on my part… plus… it’s just freaking cool to show off to your friends lol.
100 Deadly Skills Book
This is a pretty decent sized book filled with all sorts of “spy-like” information. Some of it’s a bit far fetched for every day use as I don’t see myself trying to infiltrate enemy lines any time soon but there are some really cool skills inside like how to unhook a door chain from the outside and things of that nature. I’ve only just skimmed through it so far but I definitely want to sit down and read the whole thing one of these days.
…and that was the Qbox “INDOC” theme for June 2016. Overall I thing it’s a very fun box for those who are fans of spy movies, or those who just like cool gadgets and learning new skills. You definitely get your money’s worth from the box, the book alone has a cover charge of $18, add in the cost of the 2 knives and you’re practically there. If you’re interested in trying out the Qbox for yourself, you can visit their website by clicking here. July’s box is themed “TAC’D OUT” which will be shipping out in a few short days as of this writing but if you missed the deadline, the August box theme is “DEEP COVER”.
