Nerd Block Classic Unboxing & Review – June 2016

Nerd Block review

For June, Nerd Block decided to do something a little different…. they went without a theme. Or, at least, if there was a theme they certainly did a good job of hiding it because there is no mention of it anywhere. But they did advertise 4 exclusive items in the box so that’s something to get excited about right? Nerd Block has been a little “hit or miss” lately so the no theme thing made me a little nervous about what might be in this month’s box… was it good? Well check it out for yourself…

…alright and like always, let take a look at those photos…

Harry Potter Book Mark

Well normally I would say “big deal” about book mark but this one is actually very high quality. The Gryffindor crest on the top is metal and it has a clear plastic sheet that sort of hugs the page when you put it in so that the book mark doesn’t fall out.

Exclusive Game of Thrones Coin

This is actually a pretty cool item. At first I didn’t think it could possibly be a licensed GOT item but it is… it looks to be licensed by the book and not necessarily the HBO version (not sure if that means anything). I got Robb Stark but there is at least 1 other design according to the picture on the spoiler card.

Guardians of the Galaxy Dorbz

There is nothing special or unique about this Dorbz Groot. There are not too many Dorbz I like and I think I may wind up selling all that I own. Nothing against this one but getting another just made me realize that they are taking up space that could be better used displaying things that I love. You could have also got Starlord.

Goonies Map

This map came in the box without any indications on what it was… my first thought was that it was the Goonies map but in my mind that particular map somehow looked different. I mean like, yes there is writing on it but it seemed like there was so much more written on it in the movie. Turns out that it is, in fact, a Goonies replica map and the only thing really missing from it is the music notes on the back. I had to google it and it is actually pretty true to life. Now all I need is the “copper bones” and the “doubloon” coin and I could frame this up and hang it.

Tobin’s Spirit Guide – Ghostbusters Edition

This is a truly awesome book! Whether or not the new Ghostbusters is any good, this is all about the classic that we know and love. Ever since I got it I’ve been meaning to re-watch the movie and look up things they mention to see if everything matches up lol. Yep… I’m a geek.

Legend of Zelda Rupee Shirt

You could have got 1 of 3 colors: red, blue, or green. I obviously got green. I like the design and the green color really pops. I wish they would upgrade the shirt quality just a little bit though… Gildan shirts are ok but a nice soft tagless shirt would do wonders!
