DC Legion of Collectors “Batman VS Superman” Unboxing & Review – March 2016

Funko’s latest subscription box is the DC Legion of Collectors Box. The theme for the premiere was naturally “Batman VS Superman” and it’s release coincided with the release of the movie (more or less). I’m not a big DC comics fan but I definitely wanted to get the first box to at least have a review out. If you didn’t know, like all of the Funko boxes, Legion of Collectors is only shipped every other month and is packed with 100% exclusive content straight from DC and Funko. So… check out the unboxing and I’ll meet you after for the photos…

…alright now let’s get a closer look…

Legion of Collectors Pin & Patch

Well there are no surprises here. Anyone who has seen any of the other Funko boxes know to expect a pin and patch every month.

Batman Superman Issue 5 Exclusive Variant Cover

I’m not seeing things right? That is issue #5 isn’t it? When Marvel Collector Corps shipped out a box without an issue #1 in it people freaked out… I guess it’s just not a big deal any more.

Batman VS Superman Shirt

I love this shirt design! It’s like a classic Mexican wrestling flyer featuring “El Caballero De La Noche” VS “El Hombre De Acero”! It’s light blue and looks worn with sloppy printing which gives it character!

Exclusive Armored Batman Funko Pop

Everyone who has seen an ad for this box knew that this Funko Pop would be in here. They definitely didn’t keep it a secret and it was cool enough to get me excited for this box. This is definitely a great addition to my collection!

Exclusive Superman & Aquaman Dorbz

I really don’t like Dorbz! I understand why they are green but I really don’t get why that would make a good exclusive. I know there are others in the series but to me repaints are dull. Instead of a new sculpt we just have a green variant… ok I know people like them so my rant is over.

…and that was the DC Legion of Collectors box for March 2016. Overall it’s just the same Funko box formula regurgitated over and over again which is something that I struggle with these boxes. Half the fun of a mystery box is the mystery and with these Funko’s …you can pretty much guess what you will be getting. In the end though it’s all about the exclusive Funko’s and that’s why we shell out the money.

The DC Legion of Collectors box runs $34/bi monthly and if you want to subscribe, you can visit their website by clicking here.
