Here’s a newer geeky subscription box that I’ve found called Unlimited Notions. They’re a little different than most boxes in that you get five categories to choose from: Comic, Gamer, Horror, SciFi, or TV addict. Each has their own theme and you can either do a “one time” purchase or subscribe which will save you 5% off. Naturally I got the Sci-Fi box which is priced out at $20/month… the Comic, Gamer, and Horror boxes run $16/month and the TV addict is $19. February’s Sci-Fi theme was “Star Trek” which is perfect for me because I am a Trekkie so take a look at what was in the box!
…alright now we get a closer look at everything…
When doing my research about this box I noticed that the included snacks are kinda their thing. Normally I don’t care for snacks in my geek boxes but then …normally you only get one dinky piece of candy and not something more substantial such as this. I do love Slim Jims so they got me there and the bag of snack mix is a pretty decent size. For a filler item I like this much better than stickers and things of that sort so I say keep it up!
Captain Picard Borg Mini Lunch Box
Ok if you want to get technical this is “Locutus of Borg” not Captain Picard but …ya know it’s the same guy. Picard is my favorite captain in the series and I actually use these mini lunchboxes as ornaments on my geeky xmas tree. Since the season has passed already I will be using it for some other purpose until then.
Starship Parking Metal Sign
I like this metal sign I only wish I had more wall space. I think I found a small bare section of wall where I can hang this though so it will get to be on display.
Star Trek Luggage Tag
I said this in my video, these are very popular among geeky subscription boxes lately because it’s the third one that I got. Not that I mind because I’m sure most people don’t get as many boxes as I do so chances are you don’t have one at all lol. I do travel a lot and naturally I geek out my luggage so this will actually get some use.
Mirror Mirror Spock Shirt
I absolutely LOVE this shirt! This is one of those cheesy moment in the original series where you slap some facial hair on a character and he becomes an entirely new character lol. Ok so that’s not exactly the plot of the episode but it was the things like this that make watching the original series so worthwhile.
…and that was the Unlimited Notions Sci-Fi “Star Trek” box for February 2016. Overall I think they did a good job for a smaller company. The items all fit the theme and the value was decent as well. Unlimited Notions runs $16-$20 depending on your selection and can be purchased as a single box or multi-month subscription.
