Geek Me Box “Battle” Unboxing & Review – January 2016

geek me box review

What’s this? The Geek Me Box has a theme this month? In case you didn’t know, the Geek Me Box has never announced a theme before… at least that I can remember. So is this a new direction for the box?? Or was it a one time thing… time will tell. So the theme for January 2016 was “Battle” and featured Link vs Ryu as you can see from my title image. So check out this month’s unboxing and I’ll see you below…

Dragonball Z Trading Cards

I’ve got these cards before in several geeky subscription boxes. They’re a really nice, high quality trading card that are extra glossy and foiled which really make them pop. I don’t really collect Dragonball Z or trading cards so they will make a good giveaway filler item.

Legend of Zelda Figure Capsule

I was surprised how nice these figures look. I believe there were 6 different figures in the series all being either Link or Zelda from different Zelda games. As you can see, she has great detail and I don’t see any paint flaws or anything. I really like this figure (although I wish I would have got Link instead)

Kidrobot Street Fighter Figure

That’s what I love about Geek Me Box! They are adventurous and send out different things. Who else sends out Kidrobot figures? Everyone sticks with Funko …which is nice but does get a little boring. I got Blanka …Blue Blanka not to be confused with Green Blanka… I was hoping that would make him a chase figure but nope. Either way he is cool and I have a few other Street Fighter figures from this series he can join.

The World According to Batman Book

If you’ve never seen these types of books before I highly recommend you get one! It’s almost like a pop up book for grown ups because on every other page there is an interactive piece that draws you into the story. Or to put it an even better way… this is like Batman’s scrapbook lol.

“Battle” T Shirt

This month’s shirt was not my favorite. It’s a little too cartoony for my tastes and the design doesn’t flow well in my opinion. I like all of the characters battling it out though and I will give it props for a cool concept… I think the execution just didn’t go quite right. My kids will totally love it though and will definitely wear it …I might just be a little too overly critical of the shirts I wear.
