The BAM Box Unboxing & Review – January 2016 + Coupon Code!

bam box review

Fresh out of the gate, the BAM Box has just released their premiere box for January 2016. So how about I fill you in about the BAM Box: You see, the parent company to the BAM Box is a site called ComiconAuction.com which auctions off autographed pictures & geeky merchandise. They use this access to signed merchandise and incorporate it into their new subscription box so in addition to the regular selection of goodies, you have a 1 in 10 chance of getting a bonus signed item each month as well.  I’m pretty sure those are the best odds of getting a bonus item out of any box out there. So what did we know about the premiere box? Well not much except that everyone got a special signed and numbered print… excited yet? Want to check it out? Here’s my unboxing…

….so if you decided to skip the video I’ll fill you in… I got one of the lucky boxes with the special Bonus Item inside!! Check it out…

Bonus Autographed “Shane” Photo – Jon Bernthal

So what are the odds that I would get a bonus item in my first box?!? Well actually pretty good since it’s 1 out of every 10 boxes. I never ever win the bonus items in any boxes ever so I think I was about due to hit for a change lol. This item couldn’t be more perfect because I am a HUGE Walking Dead fan!! Which returns in like 10 days!!!!! I’m told Jon Bernthal is now in the Daredevil series but that’s not a show I’m watching (at the moment)

Smoakin’ Pin

I didn’t know who this was but it’s apparently Felicity Smoak who is a reoccurring character in several series including the Flash and Arrow. But… well it’s still just a pin

Bazinga Magnet

I love the Big Bang Theory! I cant believe out of all the geeky subscription boxes I’ve got that this was my first Big Bang Theory item… you would think that’s not possible but it’s true. I can’t decide if this is going on my fridge or my car… I’m worried if it goes on my car though I’ll run it through a car wash and it will never be seen again… fridge it is then!

Marvel Daredevil Funko Pocket Pop

I don’t think I’ve seen this Pocket Pop around before… but then again I wasn’t looking for one either. The detail in this little figure is really good for a Pocket Pop and even though I don’t watch the show I’m keeping him in my collection.

Firefly Playing Cards from the Verse

Back in the day I used to be a big card player but over the years I’ve got away from it. When I did play though, we were always burning through cards so a new deck every once in a while was a necessity. Bonus points for cool and unique designed cards too. As a Firefly fan, I love these cards for a completely different reason. My firefly collectibles are few and far in between so this is going right up there with my other stuff because the artwork on the cards is just amazing.

Doctor Who Lunch Box

This is a full size lunch box that took up the whole box. I had to do my unboxing out of it (if you didn’t see the video). I’m not a Doctor Who fan but I can certainly appreciate this as a really nice item to get in the box. It’s actually perfect because I am planning a Doctor Who giveaway in the future and there are a few people in the audience who will go nuts over this!

Signed and Numbered Rick & Morty Print

So this was the promised item from the pre-box spoilers! No this is not a mash-up interpretation of Rick & Morty this is an actual signed and numbered Rick & Morty print. It’s a BAM Box exclusive item and I’m not sure if this is something we can expect all the time from them or if this was a special first box kick off type item. Either way it definitely adds value to the box. You can check out a close up below…

…as you can see this was a small run of only 100 prints. I’m not sure how valuable that makes it in the art world, but it’s definitely a keeper in the collectible world.

…and that was the BAM Box premiere box for January 2016. Even without the bonus item this was a pretty good start for a first box. Now that things are officially up and running I would expect the boxes to only get better as they go! The BAM Box runs $25/month + shipping and if you would like to try it for yourself, you can visit their website at thebambox.com by clicking here. February’s theme is “Merc” which will obviously feature Deadpool (and possibly Boba Fett!) and if you use Coupon Code “NERF10” you can SAVE 10%!!

Be sure to check out my other unboxings, and follow me on social media so you never miss out on another geeky subscription box review.
