Like, I totally got this new box that’s really rad, like, ya know? For January, I got the Retro Pop Box‘s “1980’s” theme which is a good fit for me because I was a child of the 80s. If you don’t know, Retro Pop Box is a nostalgia subscription box where you can choose between the 60s, 70s, or 80s decades for only $25/month. So sit back, relax, and check out my unboxing video to see what it’s all about…
….ok now lets check out the pictures dudes…
The Atari sticker gets completely overshadowed by the Bowie sticker this month. It was a nice simple touch that pays tribute to the late great David Bowie without going overboard.
DC Heroes Magnets
I got the DC Villains magnets last month in the 70s box so it’s a nice compliment to get the Heroes this month. I can see why they chose these… they span over all 3 decades so they can use them in more than one box. Smart thinking.
The Love Boat Mini Lunchbox
I like this, very nostalgic, but as a kid I didn’t watch the Love Boat cuz I was way into cartoons instead lol. Fast forward to the adult me who loves everything retro and I think the Love Boat is totally cool lol. It would have been awesome if it were a full size lunchbox but I doubt that would have fit in the box.
Battlestar Galactica Coasters
If you didn’t know, I am a HUGE Battlestar Galactica fan! I love everything Cylon including these really nice tin coasters. Yes I know they are only coasters but I think I’m actually going to stand them up for display instead of putting my drinks on them.
Rocky 3 T Shirt
Dude! The shirt has Mr. T on it enough said. As a little kid in the 80s I LOVED the Rocky movies and especially Mr. T! I even had the Rocky video game for the Sega Master System back in the day and I’m sure I probably wore out the buttons on the controller from mashing them so hard trying to get up after a knock down lol.
…and that was the Retro Pop Box “1980s” box for January 2016. As a new box on the scene I think they are doing pretty well. Hopefully as they gain subscribers they will be able to add a bit more value to the box as you come out only a little bit ahead of what you paid for as it stands. I still think it would make a great gift idea for like a family member or something. I had mentioned before that I am considering getting the 70s box subscription for my Dad on his birthday. I really think he will get a kick out of it which is good because he is impossible to shop for. If you want to try Retro Pop Box for yourself, please use my affiliate link by clicking here.
