Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty “The Resistance” Unboxing & Review – January 2016

Star Wars Smugglers Bounty Review

In case you haven’t noticed… I’m somewhat of a Star Wars fan. The Smuggler’s Bounty combines my love of Star Wars with my love of Exclusive Funko Pops. It’s like a match made in geekdom! The January 2016 box was themed “The Resistance” and all they kept saying is that we were getting a flocked item in the box. There isn’t much question of what types of items to expect in the box because they follow a pretty simple formula every month. So check out the video and I’ll meet you after for the close-ups…

….so now that you have seen the unboxing I bet you want a closer look right?? Yes I know that’s why you’re here I just need a transition paragraph. 😉

Smugglers Bounty Pin and Patch

In true Funko box fashion, they have a pin and patch every month. I’m not a fan of pins or patches but since these are Star Wars I feel the need to display them somehow. Right now they are just flat on a shelf but I will devise a better plan eventually.

Force Awakens Pop Tee

Pop Tees are hit or miss in my opinion. This one, however, nailed it right out of the park! This is an awesome design and I will wear this until it gets completely work out.

Pop Home C3P0 Mug

If you know about me and mugs you know I would have much rather got anything else in the box but this. It’s a really nice mug though so one of my others will have to go. It’s big enough that it could be used as a bowl for soup or cereal so I might go that route with it instead. It looks like a Lego man head if you ask me lol.

Exclusive Flocked Chewbacca Funko Pop

I should have guessed it would be Chewie when they said it was a flocked item. There aren’t many Star Wars creatures turned Funko Pop that are fuzzy. I love it and I might actually take it out of the box (I’m an in box collector) so that I can actually touch it. I’ve heard some complaints from the community that it is just a variant Pop and they have nowhere else to go with this box because they’ve released all of the characters already. I agree to some extent but then again it’s Star Wars and there is no way they would hold back a character to the general public.

…and there you have the Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty “The Resistance” box for January 2016. I dropped the Marvel Collector Corps now that this box has come out so this will be my only Funko box fix (I will try the DC box when it comes out but I’m not keeping a subscription). Smuggler’s Bounty runs about $34/every other month and if you want to try them out for yourself, you can visit them at smugglersbounty.com.

Be sure to check out my other geeky subscription box reviews, and follow me on social media so you never miss another box!
