My Box From Japan Unboxing & Review – September 2015

my box from japan review

I’ve tried a few Japanese anime subscription boxes in the past and loved them but the cost has always been an issue since they tend to be expensive. When I found My Box From Japan, I was really excited to see that they offered 2 price options at a much better value than their “competitors”. There’s a $30 box which includes about 5-6 items, and a $45 box that has 9 items inside… and the best part is that both come with free shipping! In contrast some of the other boxes cost around $38 after shipping and only have about 5 items so you can see what a great deal this is. Naturally I went with the large box so let’s take a look at what’s inside…

…pretty nice right? Obviously I don’t speak or read Japanese but I try my best lol. Here’s a closer look at everything:

Swords Dance Candy Wafer and Collectible Sticker

I’ve received one of these before with different characters on it and the candy is delicious. It’s just a vanilla wafer-type thing but I like those to begin with so you cant go wrong with that. Inside is a collectible character sticker  but since I’m not familiar with them I couldn’t tell you who I got or what they’re about.

Pokémon Candy Sticks

I imagine these are like Pocky but since I’ve never had one before I don’t know how they compare. I can say that they are VERY good and I ate them all right away. (Those were the last 2 sticking out of the top I had to snap the picture before they were gone)

Dragonball Z Plate

It’s a bit strange to get a little plate in the box but it’s possible it is a thing in Japan that I’m just not aware of. I’m not a fan of the Dragonball series but I think it’s a cool item either way and will use it as a display stand for something or another.

Lupin 21cm Chopsticks

I recognized this character right off the bat from some older anime I used to watch. I was never really a fan of this one though. The chopsticks are awesome though and I could use this in conjunction with my little plate and eat stuff I guess lol.

Aomine Bath Powder

It’s a good thing this has a warning label on it because I would totally have taken a taste thinking this was candy lol. It’s a spa bath treatment but I don’t know much more than that… like I said in my video I am totally going to have to take a bath now and try it out.

Tiger and Bunny Gachapon Figure

Another one I know nothing about but boy is she stylish! I have a few little characters like her so they are all hanging out on my desk chained together lol.

Avix Mode X Gachapon Character

All of the other characters are wearing skimpy outfits and I get the one in baggy clothes lol. It’s ok she is a very nicely detailed little figure and she looks great sitting on my desk ready to kick some butt!

K-On Chibi Mini Figure

I did learn a lot researching this figure. I’ve watched a few K-On videos trying to figure out which one she was. As it turns out, someone told me she is a minor character and not part of the main cast which is why I had such a hard time placing her. I love these types of figures most of all and have 3 similar ones now which are among my favorite geek items.

my box from japan reviewOne Piece Giant Statue

To put his size into perspective, he is bigger than a Funko Pop box by just a little. He is so incredibly detailed and bad-ass looking! I have to say he is one of the coolest things I’ve received in a geeky subscription box so far. My only problem is that I’m running out of room to display all this cool stuff.

…and that was the My Box From Japan subscription box for September 2015. I couldn’t find the value of most of the items but I would say I easily got my money’s worth. If you want to check them out for yourself, you can visit them here.
