1Up Box “Pixels” Unboxing & Review – September 2015

1up box

For several months now the 1Up Box has been reinventing itself into more of a kids box… or at least, that’s how it seems. The theme for September is “Pixels” and was advertised to have a Minecraft item inside. So what was it? Take a look for yourself…
.

.

…alright let’s take a look at those pictures…

Kirby Paper Craft

…it makes a box with Kirby’s face on it… yawwwn

1Up Box Pixel Stickers

These are actually pretty cool… for stickers. Some of the characters are obvious but some take a little bit to figure out… you got everything from Batman to Mario and everything in between. I’m not sure what I will do with them but they are definitely cool to look at.

Pixel Bow Tie

It’s a rubber bow tie with an elastic band on it. I can tell you that it is not very comfortable either. I may come up with something clever to do with this or otherwise it will just disappear into a box somewhere never to return.

I’d estimate the value at $5

1Up Box Exclusive Pixel Sword Necklace

It’s like a Zelda – Minecraft mash up I believe. The character is definitely Zelda but he is boxy like a Minecraft character. The sword could go either way since it is just a simple pixel sword. It’s cool but I don’t wear jewelry so it will just hang out somewhere.

Similar items like this sell for about $5

Minecraft Squid Plush

This was one of several Minecraft plushies that could have been included in the box. As far as plushies go… I suppose this one is ok. I like Minecraft and like every kid… my kids all like it too. Personally I think these geek boxes rely on plushies WAAAAAY too much because we get on in some box or another every month.

These sell for about $10

1Up Box Pixels Shirt

This is just a collage of random video game characters mashed up on this shirt. I like it but at the same time it’s kinda “meh” looking since there is nothing overly impressive on there. It does take me back to the days I spent in front of the TV as a child though playing all those games ..which is the point of the shirt but …ehhhh it’s just ok looking.

I value all shirts at $10

…and that was the 1Up Box “Pixels” theme for September 2015. An estimated $32 value for about $20 shipped. Most of what I get in these boxes lately just go straight to my kids which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I just miss the days when they were my favorite box to get each month… for me.
