Yes it’s time once again for my geeky subscription box month end recap. Everyone loves these because you get to see multiple boxes all in one place for easy comparison. I have included my affiliate links for each company which helps keep the costs down around here. The boxes for this month are: Loot Crate, Nerd Block, Arcade Block, Geek Fuel, 1Up Box, Super Geek Box, Collectible GEEK, Marvel Collector Corps, Geek Me Box, My Geeky Goodies, & the Fun With Funko box. Each one has been unboxed and reviewed individually both here and on YouTube if you would like more detail on a particular box. Otherwise… let’s start with the video review and go from there…
…ok so as always we start off with the geeky subscription box heavy hitters and go down from there…
Loot Crate “Villains 2”
There were alot of mixed feelings about this box out there. They went with quality instead of quantity with only 4 items in the box (excluding the pin and magazine) so if you didn’t like one of more of the items you were essentially SOL. Personally I don’t like all the little filler and would much rather have big items like this each month. My favorite item is the exclusive wooden Joker and even though I’m not a big fan of the other themes in the box I still like the item selection and have a use for all of them. In the end, that’s what makes a good box right?
I gave Loot Crate an above average 4 out of 5 stars rating for a job well done.

Nerd Block Classic “Summer Mixtape”
Some criticized this month’s Nerd Block for being the “Ghostbuster” box and not what some would call “Summer Mixtape” …I still thought the box was good. To me, “mixtape” means anything goes and in the end… if I like the items what does it matter what the theme is? Naturally the Ghostbuster items stole the show with the awesome shirt design and the ghost trap lunch box with plush Slimer inside. After the lunch box, it really doesn’t matter what else was in the box, this was a winner in my book!
I gave Nerd Block 4 out of 5 stars for the month.

If you’ve been following me long enough you know I don’t typically get the Arcade Block. I just don’t play enough games to really make it worth my while… but I still pay attention to the themes and when I see something that interests me… I jump on it! Like this month… I couldn’t pass up a Fallout 4 item along with a cool Counter Strike shirt, Mortal Kombat plush, and Scott Pilgrim stuff too. Many thought it was a pretty dull month and normally I would agree except they got me with my 2 favorite franchises so I’m happy with what we got.
I gave this an average rating: 3 out of 5 stars

This month Geek Fuel came out with a really awesome Deadpool shirt design… and they knew it too which is why they released the spoiler early to drum up some excitement for this box. My favorite item was the simple little Nuka Cola bottle cap magnet because I’m a sucker for everything Fallout 4 lol. Not stopping there, they ALSO had a really great book of either Wolverine or Spider-man. Overall, not too bad of a selection.
I gave them 4 of 5 stars.

1Up Box “Combat”
I will admit that I haven’t been much of a fan of the 1Up Box lately. But the “Combat” box was a step in the right direction. The shirt design is pretty good and the Wolverine Dorbz was a nice addition since they have been shying away from collectibles such as this lately. The rest of the filler I didn’t care for but at least I found some good in the box.
I gave them an average 3 of 5 stars

Super Geek Box “Warriors”
This month the Super Geek Box come through with a great shirt design, but everything else wasn’t so great for me. The Street Fighter flashlight is awesome except I have 2 already from other geek boxes and the plus Hulk really didn’t excite me either. Overall though, they are still one of my favorite boxes and I cant wait to see what September brings.
I gave them an average 3 of 5 rating as well

Collectible GEEK “Animation After Dark” IWIA Cache
Collectible GEEK technically had 2 boxes this month but I only got the 1. With the exception of the purple plush thing everything else was great! All of the Funko Pops were ones I wanted, the shirt takes after one of my favorite movies, and even the mini posters were Warhol-like pop art which I love.
I gave them a perfect 5 of 5 stars on this one

Marvel Collector Corps “Secret Wars”
I don’t know much about the Secret Wars but I’m not one to pass on exclusive Funko Pops. This month had the exclusive Spider-man and Thor figures along with a variant cover of Secret Wars issue 1 which I need to get reading so I can get familiar with this particular series.
I thought they did very well and I gave them 4 of 5 stars

Geek Me Box
This month’s box was pretty small and it seems they may be in a slump at the moment. I love the Ghostbusters Titans mystery figure and they mini Transformers figure was cool too. The shirt is pretty nice and the Deadpool magnet will get some use so I cant complain about this box too much. I would just like them to get back to their normal awesomeness… small items with big value are still small and make the box seem disappointing.
I gave them a 3 of 5 stars
My Geeky Goodies “Mystery Mashup 3.0”
Don’t go getting excited… My Geeky Goodies is not back. They’ve only released a special, one-time, limited edition box. It was pretty decent with both a Funko Pop and a Dorbz figure plus a few extras. Hopefully they will have some news soon about their return …if they even plan on it.
I gave them a 3 of 5 stars
Fun With Funko “Star Wars”
The Fun With Funko box is just that… a fun mystery box of Funko. You essentially break even on the box which is fine for me because I love Star Wars and didn’t have any of these Pops. This isn’t really a subscription box either, it’s a website that sells Funko Pops that has special mystery box themes each month that you can get.
I thought they did good and I give them 4 of 5 stars
