Nerd Block “Summer Mixtape” Unboxing & Review – August 2015

Nerd Block

It’s time again for another Nerd Block Classic. The theme for August 2015 is “Summer Mixtape” which my best guess means it’s just a mix of retro-type merchandise or something. I tell you what, I do like geeky subscription boxes that go retro so let’s crack this one open and see what’s inside…

…so there’s the video… let’s see the photos…

Nerd Block Exclusive “A Coaster of Kings” (Game of Thrones)

If I had a coffee table I would be using these …but alas I do not …however I could make use of them in the Nerd Cave to protect my desk from unwanted water rings. They have the likenesses of the Game of Thrones House sigils although they are kinda hard to make out …possibly done to avoid copyright infringement but whatever. They’re pretty cool …for coasters.

I would guess $5 is a pretty generous value for these

Awkward Family Postcards

These are pretty funny but I doubt I’d ever be mailing one of them. It’s the physical form of something that has been all over the web for viewing for a number of years now… I’m not complaining because I like this item but at the same time… meh.

It has a cover price of about $10

Rubik’s Cube Stress Ball

It’s a squishy block that looks like a Rubik’s Cube… I like it, very retro. What more can you say?

They sell for just under $10

Who You Gonna Call?! Ghostbusters Shirt

I love this shirt! Very cool design and the character likenesses are spot on. It has some nice color in it and I will definitely be wearing this one!

I value all shirts at $10

Ghostbusters Lunch Box and Slimer Plush

This absolutely made the box for me! The lunch box looks like a trap… and inside was the Slimer plush which was totally unexpected. The only issue I have with this item is where I am going to put it lol. Do I use the lunch box? Do I display it with the Slimer inside? Such questions demand a great deal of thought so for the moment… it is in cool stuff limbo lol.

This was very difficult to price out because metal lunch boxes are generally expensive so I’m going to say $30 for the combo.

…and there you have the August 2015 “Summer Mixtape” Nerd Block Classic. An estimated $65 value for $30 shipped. Personally I thought this was a great box. I’ve read other people who criticized it though so I guess it all depends on what you’re in to. I cant wait until the September box though because of the “Hyperspace” theme and the promise of a Star Wars item! If you would like to try Nerd Block for yourself… you can visit their website by clicking here. All sales made through one of my affiliate links go towards helping support this site and I couldn’t do it without people like you!!
