collectible GEEK

The boxes have already started rolling in for March. First up is Collectible GEEK’s “Totally 80s” Collector’s Cache. They have consistently been one of my favorite boxes and they couldn’t have picked a better theme for this month! So, like, let’s totally see what’s inside…

.

So what did you think? Being a kid of the 80s I thought it was well done. So lets take a closer look at what we got…

collectible GEEK

Kre-O Transformers Micro Changers

Just your basic mini figure, but the easiest way to bring a Transformer into an 80s box. I have several of these so it was pretty cool to get another.

These sell for $5

Glow in the Dark Shutter Shades

It wouldn’t be the 80s without a pair of these shades. Wearing them now I cant believe how bad the visibility is I could hardly see anything with them on lol. Back then I was just a kid so I guess being half blind and bumping into stuff was considered cool.

Similar ones sell for about $5

collectible GEEK

Rubiks Cube Keychain

Another 80s hit now in compact form. I’m not sure I want to mess this up because I will probably never get it right again. I’ve heard a few complaints about these falling apart but mine seems to be just fine.

These sell for $5

The Neverending Story Auryn Necklace

This was one of my favorite movies growing up and it still ranks high today… the first one not any of the sequels. My only wish would be that it was closer to actual size. It wouldn’t be practical as a necklace anymore but it would be more like a movie prop replica. However, this little version is very detailed and will make a cool addition to my collection.

These sell for about $7

collectible GEEK

Ghostbusters Patch & Greatest American Hero Magnet

This is kinda like the filler that they claim not to have in their boxes but it is still very cool I think. I never do anything with patches but the magnet will go on my fridge.

I estimate the value at $5 for the pair.

The Slashfest Club Poster

Collectible GEEK always has the coolest posters in their boxes. This one is no exception! I only wish I had more wall space… The Breakfast Club is a great movie so I like the mash-up idea it works well.

I estimate the value at $5

collectible GEEK

Save Ferris Mug

It’s simple, it’s clever, it’s a reference to one of my all time favorites…. I love it! It’s also a Collectible GEEK exclusive item.

Similar mugs sell for about $10

Beetlejuice Funko Pop in a Pop Protector

He’s the “Ghost with the most baby”. Who wouldn’t want a Beetlejuice Pop? And collectible GEEK always send them in a Pop Protector. He has taken up residence on my wall of Pops!

I value all Pops at $10 with $2.50 for the protector.

Ghostbusters T-Shirt

All I can say is that this shirt is AWESOME! I love the design and I don’t have anything Ghostbusters so this was great because it’s another all time favorite.

I value all T-Shirts at $10

…and there you have Collectible GEEK’s “Totally 80s” Collectors Cache. An estimates $65 value for $33 shipped. This was one you either loved or hated… personally I thought it was great but I have heard a few complaints about it not being up to par with what they normally deliver. (aka too much filler) but it was the filler that made it nostalgic to me.

Next month’s cache is “Assemble” themed and has long since been sold out. Collectible GEEK has also announced that they are experiencing “growing pains” from a surge in popularity and have put an end to subscription orders for the moment. You can still get your hands on each month’s box though, they are just being sold individually month-to-month. So what does that mean to you? If you want to get your hands on May’s “Cowabunga Cache” they will be going on sale April 1st until they are sold out.

If you want to try Collectible GEEK for yourself, you can get a 3% Discount by visiting their website by clicking here. No more drop down menus or discount codes, they have switched over to affiliate links and the discount is tied directly to that.
