Hello again, and welcome to my unboxing of the Betoyo Bento, a geeky monthly subscription box full of goodies straight from Japan. This box comes with 5 or so items and runs $38 shipped. Intriguing? I’d say so …let’s take a look inside…
So what did you think? Every box comes tied up in a red ribbon which was a nice touch. I think it gives it a little more character and adds to the experience. Let’s take a closer look:
Sailor Moon (Pluto) Plushie
I’m not big on Sailor Moon or plushies for that matter. However, this thing is just so darn cute. I’m not sure if I will keep it or give it away just yet …think I’ll hang on to it for a little while.
These sell for $15
Domo Change Purse
This thing is so unbelievably cool and unique! Yes it’s a coin purse but it feels well-made and not cheap and flimsy. On the reverse side is, what I’m told, a picture of a ticket to ride the train in Tokyo. I’m going to use it to store my change that ultimately just winds up sitting on my desk when I empty my pockets.
I couldn’t find anything remotely similar to this but I would guess in the $10- 15 range
Mega Man Mystery Ball
This little guy is pretty awesome. He came in the ball like a mystery figure and only stands maybe an inch and a half tall. As you can see, he’s pretty detailed for being so small.
I couldn’t find anything similar but I’m guessing about $8
Frog Figure and Gum
Well you got me on this one. It’s a frog figure with a piece of gum in the box. Not a mystery toy since you see exactly what figure is inside and there is just a single piece of gum. I think the frog is awesome though …it’s so completely off the wall that it leaves me speechless.
I have no clue what it’s worth either I’ll guess at $5
Madoka Magica Candy
This was a candy vanilla wafer with a trading card inside. I’ve never seen the show but I plan on checking it out. The wafer was pretty good!
I’ve seen these for about $2.50
…and there you have the Betoyo Bento for February 2015. A very roughly estimated $45 value for $38 shipped. For all I know I could be way off in my pricing though. For me, it had nothing to do with the value, it was all about the experience! I thought it was fun and unique to get some exotic foreign merchandise from somewhere I may never visit in my lifetime. If you are interested in trying them out you can visit their website here. I’m going to be watching their social media closely for hints on upcoming boxes but will not get them on a regular basis. What I really want are those robot figures they show on their main page …I’m a HUGE fan of anything mecha or similar.
Be sure to check out the rest of my website where I’ve literally unboxed almost every single geek box out there! See ya!
