Hero Crate (5) Unboxing and Review – December 2014

Who Is December's

Once again I’ve found a NEW BOX to open and review! This one is called Hero Crate and each month the theme is based on a single hero whose identity isn’t known until you open the box. This box runs $30 shipped and there is no subscription, it is a pay when you want one service. So who is December’s hero???? Well check out the reveal in my unboxing video:

So Captain America it is! I’m not a huge Capt A fan but it could have been a lot worse and got someone I flat out don’t like. However, I found the items they included to be a very good choice for this hero and I’m glad I got it… so let’s take a closer look:

hero crate 5Cap’n Ameri-Crunch T-shirt:

I like this shirt a lot! It’s a good mash-up without being cheesy or ugly-looking. The sizing on the large seems more like an extra large but maybe it will shrink… but it’s good for some of the bigger people out there since I’ve heard complaints about shirts from various boxes being too small or not fitting right. Anyways, this design is a win and it will be added to my wardrobe!

I always value t-shirts at $10

Captain America Pop Vinyl:

Another Pop to add to my ever growing collection? Yes please! I like him because he has the classic Capt America look and he is one that I probably would not have purchased on my own. He shall be displayed proudly with all the rest…

I always value Pops at $10

Captain America Mug:

Unfortunately my mug was broken upon arrival but I have contacted Hero Crate in hopes of getting a replacement. I suppose if for some reason I cant get it replaced I could just repurpose it as a pen holder or something. Either way, it is a pretty decent mug.

This sells online for an average of about $10

Captain America Air Freshener:

I don’t really see the value of air fresheners as a geek box item but somehow I just keep getting them. In this case, as I’ve pointed out… both Hero Crate and Loot Crate had the same idea and now I have 2 vanilla scented Capt America shields.

These sell for $2

And there you have it! The December Captain America Hero Crate. Roughly a $32 value for $30 shipped ($28.50 actually since they refunded $1.50 due to a missing undisclosed item). Like I said in my video, I wont be getting one every month but I will pay close attention to their hints on social media to try and get in on ones that I think I might like.

If you would like to try Hero Crate for yourself, visit their website by clicking here. It is an affiliate link and it will help me to bring you more great boxes in the future!

Be sure to check out my other unboxing reviews and see who wins Best Box Of December when I put all of them head to head and pick the best one! Until then….
