Holy schnikes! It’s already December and I’m behind on my November box reviews. The Geek Me Box is one of my favorite geeky subscription boxes and I almost feel guilty for waiting so long to post this. Then again you might say I’ve saved the best for last eh? Maybe, maybe not… you will have to check out my monthly battle to see who wins best box of November. So without any further hesitation I give you the November Geek Me Box!
Now that you have seen the goods, let’s take a closer look at each…
Super Hero 6 Shirt:
This is one of the best shirts I have ever received in a mystery box… Super Mario 3 = awesome, Big Hero 6 = awesome, Super Hero 6 = EPIC! I even wore this shirt to the theater to see the movie lol. At any rate, the artwork is top notch with the perfect blend of both worlds if I actually saw this for sale in a store I would have got it and that’s something I don’t normally say about these types of shirts.
I always value shirts at $10
Street Fighter Mini Figures
I was excited to see a little “Vega” peeking out at me from inside this box. He is one of my favorites and a welcome addition to my geek collection. Guile, on the other hand, is just… meh. I was hoping for Chun Li as she is my character of choice. I tend to pick female characters in video games, not because I want to “be a girl” as I had been teased on numerous occasions throughout life… but because they are nice to look at! I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to stare at a character for hours at a time day after day, I prefer them to have a nice rack and not a bunch of dudes flexing muscles.
You can pick up one of these for yourself for about $10
PacMan Pinky Paper Pad
Somehow I always seem to get the “pink” version of stuff in these geek boxes. Nooo I couldn’t get the red one that would be asking too much. It’s ok though… I’m secure enough to write my notes on pink paper lol. (apparently they only come in pink I’ve just discovered)
This classic arcade notepad will set you back $5
Super Mario Bros Micro Land Figures
These guys are small… REALLY SMALL! And there’s nothing wrong with that except I am afraid to remove them from their box because one wrong bump and they are lost. The figures themselves are pretty detailed for such a small size… actually as I was writing this I decided to throw caution to the wind and break open the package. I was surprised to find that they all stand up on their own and are pretty stable (the Bob-omb has a split walking stance and if you’ve ever had a figure like that they usually just fall over but not these) I actually like them better now that I’ve had a chance to touch them.
These sell for $13 online
Mega Man E-Tank Energy Drink
I usually start my mornings off with an energy drink …yes I know they are actually terrible for you but I like the awesome sugar and caffeine rush that I get over just a plain old cup of coffee. That being said I found this drink to be… not so good. I tastes like blue raspberry which really wasn’t bad at all but it was a bit flat tasting. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be that way or maybe mine just got beat up along the way somehow. I still found it cool and I am glad for having the experience.
These sell for a whopping $4.50 a can
Minecraft Diamonds Candy
Ok obviously just a filler item but at least they did it in a clever way! I give them props.
And there you have the November 2014 Geek Me Box! You have a total value of $43 for $30 shipped but dollars don’t mean anything in the box world if you don’t like the stuff. To me, this shirt is awesome! The Street Fighter figures were cool and the little Mario figures turned out to be good as well. Overall I am very pleased with this box and GMB sits comfortably in the “subscription boxes I will continue to get” category.
