I have been looking around for a Bluetooth speaker for quite some time but I was never really sure of which one to get and just kept pushing it off. So when I saw the opportunity to review one on my blog I jumped at the opportunity!

The DKnight Magicbox Ultra-Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker is small, compact, simple, yet packs a big punch. It seems well constructed and has a bit of weight to it which I like because it doesn’t feel cheap. It has rubber on both the top and bottom which helps keep it firm in place where you set it, I imagine they will also protect it from a small drop however I’m not about to start dropping it until it breaks lol. The diamond screen design is thin yet very sturdy and should be impervious to accidental pokes and prods. Overall I feel this is a very well made product.

Like most wireless products you must fully charge it before first use. It comes with a USB cord to charge via computer however you must provide your own adapter if you wish to charge it by outlet. It also includes an aux cord so you can connect non-Bluetooth devices such as an iPod Shuffle. The battery is long lasting and it is said to last up to 10 hours however I have never run it completely dead.

The Bluetooth was a cinch to connect. I simply turned it on and set my iPhone to search and they found and paired in just a few seconds. The range is pretty good too, I’m able to go anywhere within the room and never lose the signal. In fact after hours of play I never had the signal drop once. Another great feature is that the Magicbox has a built in microphone so you are able to take a phone call right from the speaker itself!

And finally, what’s a speaker review without the sound quality? Well I have to rate the DKnight Magicbox sound as excellent! The volume can get pretty loud without any distortion (louder than I needed it to be for sure). It has a pretty good range too and is able to get some decent lows considering the speakers are about the size of a quarter. A lot of small speakers tend to be shrill and all treble but not these, don’t get me wrong though, they’re not going to thump …if you’re looking to drop the bass you’re barking up the wrong tree because you’re not going to find it. That being said these speakers out perform the stock speakers in my iPhone by leaps and bounds!
