Yes once again I will be unboxing stuff I got in the mail! Today we have the August edition of the Nerd Block JR (for boys). A nerdy kids subscription box that is delivered to your door each month for about $20. Naturally I made this highly entertaining video for you to enjoy!

And now for a closer look at all of the items for August 2014:

Nerd Block JR

Fist up is the Angry Birds Star Wars Phone Dangler:

Nerd Block JR

While my kids do love to play Angry Birds, there’s no real value in owning a phone dangler. My oldest has a phone and he certainly isn’t going to want some awkward thing hanging off of it. That being said the kids will still love it and will probably hang it off of something. Also note that it is freaking tiny and will most likely get lost.

Next is the Skylanders Flingers Pencil Topper:

Nerd Block JR

The youngest of the boys is a big fan of Skylanders and will love this! My guess is, by the name, that you’re supposed to fling it around using a pencil. It’s got some good weight to it for a stuffed toy so it will really shoot quite nicely. Definitely not something he will be taking to school though lol.

After that we have the Ben 10 Omniverse Figures:

Nerd Block JR

My kids were into Ben 10 years ago but I haven’t seen it since. They had some figures back then and found them to be quite boring. They probably wound up getting thrown out or donated to good will …I have a feeling the same fate is in store for these 2 guys.

Next we have Super Mario Bros Wii Phone Dangler:

Nerd Block JR

Big fail Nerd Block , BIG FAIL! 2 phone danglers in 1 month? Seriously??? This one is much cooler than the Angry Birds one but honestly what can you do with them? At best they will wind up on a zipper on their back pack or something.

After that comes the Spider-Man Project-A-Lite

Nerd Block JR

Finally something that kids can use. Every kid loves playing with flashlights and making a Spider-Man shadow on the wall is too cool! It’s pretty cheap looking and might possibly break This almost seems like a dollar store item or a Five Below item at best. Either way I’m sure it will be a big hit while it lasts.

And finally we have Owl – Summer Fun

Nerd Block JR

It’s always fun to get an activity book. This one is pretty much the same as last month’s with very similar activities inside. What more can be said?

The Conclusion:

Nerd Block JR is exciting for kids! A personal package in the mail full of toys is bound to excite just about any child and for $20 that may be worth it. However, the excitement doesn’t last long and the toys are quickly forgotten. That being said, we are ending our Nerd Block JR subscription so this will be the last unboxing. We feel that we are getting our money’s worth but that money could be better spend on a single toy that has more lasting power than this stuff.
