Runners ask other runners all the time for new playlist ideas. All over social media in running groups the topic comes up constantly. So I decided to start a “Songs Burning Up My Running Playlist” series where I share a new song that really worked for me during a run. Yes these songs are run-tested. I like electronic music when I run because of the solid beat and repetition which helps me keep pace and lets me drift off someplace inside my mind.
Todays song is “Five Hours” by Deorro
I especially like how the pace slows and quickens at various points during the song. It made me feel like I needed to speed up as if someone was behind me pushing me to go faster. I had never seen the video prior to this post but in my head while I ran I pictured driving down the road to nowhere in particular which is a funny coincidence. (It is kind of a dance music cliché so it wasn’t a far stretch by any means).
